Redemption in the Law Legal Foundation

Empowering Survivors Through Digital Safety, Advocacy, and Access to Justice

Introduction

Our Mission

Our mission is to advance access to justice and protect vulnerable individuals from gender-based violence and technology-facilitated harm through legal and public-interest advocacy, digital safety education, and the responsible use of technology.

We seek to empower individuals with knowledge, connect them with appropriate support, and promote safer digital and physical environments where dignity, rights, and justice are respected.

Our Approach

Why Redemption in the Law

The principles below outline the approach Redemption in the Law intends to bring to its work.

Why We Exist

Redemption in the Law exists because experiencing violence or abuse should never mean losing access to justice, dignity, or protection.

We recognise that harm increasingly occurs both offline and online. Gender-based violence, cyberbullying, online harassment, threats, privacy violations, and other forms of technology-facilitated abuse can have serious consequences for individuals and communities.

Our organisation exists to help bridge the gap between people, justice, advocacy, and technology.

What We Believe

We believe that:

  • Everyone deserves dignity, safety, and access to justice.
  • Vulnerable individuals should be heard, respected, and treated with compassion.
  • Technology should be used to empower and protect—not facilitate abuse.
  • Digital safety is increasingly an essential component of personal safety.
  • Effective advocacy should be informed by evidence, research, and lived realities.
  • Legal and technological approaches can work together to address emerging forms of harm.

How We Approach the Law

We take a people-centred, rights-based, and technology-aware approach to advocacy.

We seek to help individuals understand their options, identify appropriate sources of support, and navigate issues involving gender-based violence and technology-enabled harm.

Where appropriate, we promote the responsible use of cybersecurity and digital safety tools to help individuals protect their information, preserve their digital security, and reduce exposure to online threats.

Redemption in the Law is not a substitute for qualified legal representation or emergency services. Where matters require professional legal intervention, we encourage individuals to seek assistance from appropriately qualified professionals and relevant authorities.

What This Means for You

It means you do not have to navigate complex issues alone.

Whether you are seeking information about online safety, experiencing technology-facilitated abuse, or looking for information about available avenues of support, Redemption in the Law aims to provide a safe, respectful, and informed starting point.
